Outstanding Alumni Award
Established in 1989, the Outstanding Alumni Award is presented annually. The award recognizes graduates who have made significant contributions to their profession and who are furthering the health and quality of life for members of the military and/or civilian communities. Award recipients must be an active member of the Alumni Association; however, they do not have to currently working in the field of Physical Therapy. Alumni may be nominated by any active member of the association. For information on nominating someone for this award, LINK Nominations can be submitted anytime but must be submitted NLT 1 March of the year the award will be presented. The award is typically presented at the program graduation ceremony at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.

Virginia Metcalf Service Award
The Virginia Metcalf Service Award (VMSA) recognizes Association members who have demonstrate sustained, exceptional service to the organization. COL (Retired) Virginia Metcalf was instrumental in organizing and starting the Alumni Association. Serving as an officer for over 15 years, she was a driving force in the growth of the Association and was the first recipient of this award in 1999. Her commitment and selfless service are the standard for the award. Any member of the Association, regardless of membership category, is eligible for nomination for the VSMA.
